LEMAC CAMERAS IN THE FIELD

PANASONIC's HVX202 GRABS THE HIGH GROUND ON MINI HD CAMERAS

Independent producers and cinematographers around the world are falling in love with the little PANASONIC HVX 202 camera.  Why? Because it does so much that other cameras cannot. Not being limited to videotape recording it behaves much like a film camera in terms of variabie frame rate but has the additional advantage of pre-record and loop recording so you cannot miss a moment.

Peter & Sheldon Wynne, Ed Hobbs, Spencer Franks, and lots more have all purchased this new camera, headed into the field and have been overjoyed with the results. New 16GB P2 Cards have recently become available enabling over 60 minutes (with 2 cards) of continuous HD recording at 720/25pN mode fixing the problem of limited record times present when only 2 or 4GB cards were available.

Century's optical accessories such as the 1.6x & 2x tele-converters, and an extensive range of wide angle converters and adaptors from fisheye to .8x zoom through maximize your shooting options.

Since being released, the acceptance of this camera - particularly in place of standard definition Digital Betacam, has been astonishing.... and for less than a sixth of Digital Betacam's cost!

Ask our sales people to schedule you a demo of this great new camera.... more info

GEORGE MILLER & ANDY TOPP SHOOT AUSTRALIA's FIRST P2 FEATURE

"In April of 1987, two North Americans disappeared in the West Australian desert on a 4WD holiday. They were never seen alive again. Their abandoned vehicles and totally unused supplies were found in sand dunes near an Aboriginal sacred site less than an hour away from the closest town. Two years later, in May of 1989, the two men were both found dead of natural causes, on the same day, 1000 miles apart back in North America.

Twenty years after the original incident, 3 couples who set out on a surfing trip are lured into the same desert area, by a strange local whose master needs fresh victims to consume. Preconceived assumptions about friendship, undiscovered sexual liaisons, and false leadership come apart as the three couples realize that the vacation is over. They are now... Prey."

Shot entirely on solid-state media using two AJ-HPX2100E cameras supplied by Lemac rentals this film is Australia's first 24P feature shot entirely on P2. They have described their recent 35mm film-out tests as amazing.

AATON's new XTERA SUPER 16 CAMERA

One of the big hits at our SMPTE '07 stand was the new Aaton Xtera which was on display...

The new Xtera has been built around the unrivaled structure of the first Super16 camera ever designed, and outperforms any other 16mm camera in terms of crispness and reliability.

It is the natural evolution of the first Super-16 camera in the world, famous for being ultra quiet, ultrasharp and ultra-comfortable. The film guides, the magazine loading, its general shape.. even details like the positioning of the on-board battery have been imitated by others but they still don't reach the performance of the Aaton X.tera.

With the X.tera, there is no need for a mushy sound-dampening isolation of the claw, which affects micro-registration. You have easy shoulder portability, blur-free claw movement, micro fixity, HD-like video-assist with crisp progressive scan, double battery deck for peace of mind, truly functional and established timecode recording an internal lightmeter and loads of other functions.

AATON SUPER 16 - MARCHES WITH THE PENGUINS

To create the Academy Award-winning documentary March of the Penguins, Director Luc Jacquet and Director of Photography Laurent Chalet had to find a camera that could withstand a year-long shoot in the Antarctic. Freezing temperatures, sudden storms, and isolation demanded a camera that was extremely rugged and reliable. The camera they selected was the Aaton XTRprod. To capture the film's breathtaking footage, two cameras were winterized at Aaton's factory in Grenoble, France.
