Working with partners like Apple, Panasonic offers production VTRs such as the AJ-HD1400 and AJ-HD1200AE with ITU-601 digital, 4:2:2 quality video at 100 & 50 Mbps and 4:1:1 quality video at 25 Mbps data rates over FireWire®.  The addition of FireWire to the Panasonic VTRs eliminates the need to add a specialized PCI capture card to the computer, as well as the need to decompress the video prior to transfer.
