About Us

Your Vision, Our Support

It all began way back in the early 70’s when a group of teenagers got together to create some magic. They needed a name for the credits of the films they produced together and Lemac (camel backwards) was born.

Fast forward to 1975. The late John Bowring ACS, then a young editor/cameraman and part of that band of filmmakers, took time out from his lunch break at GTV9 to register a company.

All the “sensible” names he had thought up were taken so he registered Lemac thinking he would go back later and change it.

Over 40 years later the rest is history.  As a passionate cinematographer and a lover of technology the rental arm of the business began in order to pay for the “toys”.

Sales followed as the business grew and others asked us for advice on what was the best technology for their needs.

The Lemac family and brand are as passionate and dedicated today as John was when he started it back in 1975.

Whether it’s for feature film, drama, reality, TVC, documentary, corporate, shorts, music clip, live event, webcasts, news or current affairs Lemac have the solution for you.
