Sony have released a new firmware update (version 2.00) to their NXCAM camcorder the HXR-NX3.
The big addition of this firmware update is support for the XAVC-S HD format, with update version 2.00
adding recording, playback and output in the XAVC-S HD format to the HXR-NX3.

XAVC S
XAVC S is Sony's robust format which covers a wide range of bit rates and resolutions. More information here
