The Sigma Classic Primes use a newly developed coating on the front and rear glass elements to create a look from the past, enabling cinematographers to explore new possibilities in movie creation. This look is further enhanced by having the remaining lens elements left uncoated to encourage flaring and soft blooms. Note however, that this leads to a disparity in f and T stop, as depicting in the table below.
Furthermore, the Classic Primes are compatible with the communication protocol of Cooke /i Technology, and thus an ideal tool for shooting and editing with the latest technology, such as VFX.
