Blackmagic Design today announced ATEM Mini Pro ISO, a new low cost live production switcher with a new 5 stream recording engine that allows all video inputs to be recorded allowing a live production to be edited after the event. This allows users to get a clean feed of all inputs and use edit software multi-cam features for later editing. ATEM Mini Pro ISO also records all audio files, media pool graphics and a DaVinci Resolve project file, so a live production can be opened and edited with a single click!

Blackmagic Design today announced ATEM Streaming Bridge, a new converter that decodes the live stream from any ATEM Mini Pro model switcher and converts it back to SDI and HDMI video. The advantage of ATEM Streaming Bridge is broadcasters can use it to connect high quality video links direct from any ATEM Mini Pro studio. This allows broadcasters to access a wide range of talent, worldwide. ATEM Mini Pro's video stream is much higher quality than simple conferencing software, so customers get broadcast quality, clean of any streaming software vendor logo burn-in.

Two major productions will roll cameras again in Queensland this month as the State’s screen industry starts to recover from the global COVID-19 pandemic. In a great sign of confidence in Queensland’s economic recovery, the Premier said the two productions, in Cairns and on the Gold Coast would together create 225 jobs and inject $10 million into Queensland’s economy.

The 2020 SQ Mentorship is being delivered as part of Screen Queensland’s commitment to diversity and achieving gender parity in the screen industry. SQ will provide four outstanding mid-career Producers, Cinematographers or Games-based practitioners a curated mentorship to support them to undertake a program of professional development and credit-based placements as part of a 12 month program designed to elevate their professional practice.

The Australian screen production industry today released COVID-Safe Guidelines to help get the industry back to work. The Guidelines have been developed by the Australian Screen Sector Task Force, comprising the Australian Film Television & Radio School (AFTRS), Screen Australia, the Media Entertainment & Arts Alliance (MEAA), Screen Producers Australia (SPA), State and Territory agencies, Guilds, ABC, SBS, Ausfilm and major production companies, to support a safe return to production in Australia.
