Participating in Movember is not just an excuse for a bunch of blokes to simultaneously grow moustaches. Well, part of it is.. But there’s also a very important reason that the men of Lemac have banded together as ‘Mo Bros’ this year- it’s an opportunity for us to raise awareness and support for two charities that are very close to our hearts: the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and beyondblue, the national depression and anxiety initiative.
In the mid-70s, the heyday of moustachery as we know it, Lemac was started up by the late, great John Bowring ACS. JB was a passionate and dedicated leader, an innovator and above all a supporter of the Australian Film and TV industry; and his legacy lives on today.
Over the course of 35+ years of service to what we all know is an incredibly tough industry, Lemac has seen it’s share of close friends suffer from poor health and/or depression. Sometimes, the tolls taken have been fatal.
So we’ve decided to help, by looking a bit old school, a bit 70’s, which for us is when this journey began.
We’re raising awareness of these issues by sporting the best ‘staches we can, and giving you the opportunity to do something good not just for your community, but for your industry as well- because we know all too well that we’re not immune.
