Lemac has become the first Australian rental house to commit to the new F65 camera, through Sony Australia, which will be due early 2012.
Lemac Managing Director Sue Greenshields said “Lemac have always been
the first to provide the latest in production technology and we believe
the Sony F65 represents a very exciting addition to our high-end camera
fleet. We are very pleased to be among the first in the world to offer
this ground-breaking camera, as well as provide solid backup and support
for on-set and post production workflows. Lemac will be rolling out new
training programs that will start with an F65 course for Lemac
customers.”
“We are very pleased to see such a strong commitment from Lemac to
the F65,” said Nick Buchner, Senior Product Manager, Professional
Solutions Division, Sony Australia and New Zealand. “The F65 is a highly
anticipated camera with unmatched performance and we are expecting it
to develop a solid position in the local feature, commercial and TV
drama production markets.”
The F65 CineAlta Digital Motion Picture camera was one of the most
talked-about announcements at this year’s NAB Show in April and was
launched locally at events in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide earlier
this month. It features a newly developed 8K sensor, which delivers HD, 2K, and 4K resolution today - and will go beyond 4K in
the future, as industry needs evolve.
Sony is scheduled to commence deliveries of the F65 from early 2012.
