More and more often, Red One is being selected as the camera of choice for TV series both abroad and locally, delivering cinematic images in a timely manner and on budget. DoP John Brawley followed up on his successful The Lowdown (also shot on Red, from Lemac) with Southern Star’s highly anticipated Offspring.
The production utilized both the original RED ONE and the recently upgraded RED MX cameras to great effect, along with the RED-specific Angenieux Rouge zoom lenses.
In addition to this, Canon 5D DSLR cameras were put to use for both webisodes and close-quarters car shots.
Since it first aired mid-2010, Offspring has been a huge hit thanks to it’s strong storytelling, great characters and, of course, world-class production values.
