Lemac recently provided the aptly-chosen Red One Digital Cinema camera package for the upcoming feature, Red Dog. Based on a true story, Red Dog is a major new Australian film about a charismatic kelpie who united a mining community in the mid 1970s and 80s.
Lemac gear was truly put to the test while filming for a month in the sandy and remote landscape of the Pilbara region in Western Australia, which followed on from a five-week shoot in South Australia.
Red Dog has been adapted from the novel by award-winning author Louis De Bernieres, is directed by Kriv Stenders (Lucky Country) and produced by Julie Ryan (Ten Canoes) and Nelson Woss (Ned Kelly).
With substantial support from both government and private sectors and the proven track record of it’s filmmakers, Red Dog promises to be a must-see family movie upon it’s release in 2011.
