Top and Bottom Dovetails
Dovetail systems are one of the most convenient mounting options in the entire filmmaking industry, and our LeftField 3 Base Kit provides two of them. The LeftField Baseplate uses our Open•UP system for quick-release convenience, mounting to any standard ARRI dovetail – even those out of tolerance. Meanwhile, the Sliding Top Plate also features a central dovetail plate that can be quickly removed: allowing you to adjust attachments without disassembling your entire rig.
15mm LWS Compatibility
The LeftField Baseplate also adds the option to mount support rods in the 15mm LWS configuration; for the additional mounting of follow-focus motors, matte boxes and more. If you need to adjust the weight distribution of your rig, then this provides a great alternative to mounting directly to your camera or lens – preventing damage to either.

For long-lasting performance, each part of the LeftField Base Kit for RED V-RAPTOR is designed and engineered to the highest quality standards. Made from anodised aluminium, each component is resistant to wear and corrosion; and the internals of the screw threads are fitted with stainless steel Helicoil inserts to prevent stripping or binding.
