LeftField Convenience
The LeftField Baseplate uses our patented Open•Up Quick-Release mechanism, which allows you to quickly and seamlessly transition from mount to mount. Use the dovetail included in the Expert Kit, or mount to a tripod or gimbal. Any ARRI-standard dovetail is compatible – even those out of tolerance.
Handheld Comfort
At the top end of the camera, our dedicated top plate and 1/4″-20 top handle provide a steady and comfortable grip for handheld shooting, or steadying the camera from above. The top plate is also modular and slots into a dovetail of its own, allowing you to quickly remove it for adjustment without unscrewing anything.
Light Weight Support
The LeftField Baseplate also accommodate the 15mm LWS standard of support rod mounting, common across many industry accessories. This not only allows you to better support your camera and lens, but also provides more options for mounting accessories such as follow-focus motors and matte boxes – transferring the weight from the camera body to the support rods. The Expert Kit comes with two 12″ sterling titanium support rods, giving you the perfect platform for customisation.
Customisation Capabilities
Alongside the mounting options, you have plenty of freedom for creating the perfect rig. The side and top plate both offer 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 mounting threads, and the side plate offers an ARRI rosette for handgrips and other accessories. The top plate, meanwhile, has two 15mm LWS rod brackets of its own, for additional lens control motors or viewfinder mounting.
Part of the LeftField 3 System
The LeftField 3 system of quick-release plates is designed to maximise compatibility between cameras, mounting to ARRI standard dovetails for secure placement but speedy removal. With a broad range of options available for different camera systems, you can find the perfect configuration no matter your camera or context for shooting.
