At Channel Nine's studio in the Dockland's, the ACS held their inaugural I Like To Move It expo over the weekend. Designed to showcase all the services and products available to professional film, TV and web production for mounting, supporting and moving cameras, and run in conjunction with the Vic/Tas awards night, the event was a great success. As a long time supporter of the ACS, Lemac naturally leaped at the opportunity to show off our new range of grip, support & stabilization options.
Over 500 visitors attended the expo where they were greeted by the friendly Lemac staff, with our large range of equipment situated just inside the front door. The gear on display included tripods & heads from Miller and O’Connor, The Steadicam Solo and Curve, DJI’s revolutionary Ronin stabiliser (always one of the most popular piece of gear for people to try out), Kessler’s Oracle mo-co rig, and the fantastic Syrp Genie, arriving from across the ditch in New Zealand. The Genie rig can can be used to either motor itself along a slider or be converted to do a motorised pan movement in seconds.

Also in attendance - and taking time out from his busy schedule on Dancing With The Stars - was Steadicam Operator Warren Tiedgen, who bought his Steadicam Archer (recently purchased from Lemac) to display and demonstrate.
Around the studio, other stands displayed a variety of cranes, drones, tripods, & camera tracking vehicles. A helicopter had been landed in the parking lot with camera nose mount to check out, along with a number of drone demonstrations by Aerial Inspections.
Lemac also had a demo version of Sony’s exciting new FS7 high speed 4K camera that generated lots of interest, as well as RED and Arri cameras at situated on various pieces of equipment around the stand. Because we're ballers like that
Lastly, but by no means least, Lemac’s Rentals Department had the CamBlock on display – a four axis motion control ring that can be programmed with dolly, pan, tilt and focus moves. The rig is available for ‘serviced’ hire from the Rentals Department and - judging by the amount of interest the CamBlock generated - it should be busy!
Visitors and exhibitors were in agreement that the event was fun and informative and an unqualified success.
