Baden Powell College recently enlisted Lemac's assistance to take their media production capabilities to a new level and set up a brand new portable 3-camera studio for their prep to year 9 students as part of their school curriculum. As part of Baden Powell's well resourced and technology rich learning environment, staff members Maree Carabott and Kaye Mckee have a very real understanding of the fact that young students are becoming media-savvy at a very early age and decided to upgrade their video production facilities.
When looking at providers, Lemac were able to source the most suitable equipment to match their budget, advise on how to best configure it, assist in it's set-up, and provide in-house training for staff on the usage of the Sony cameras, Sennheiser wireless microphones & Blackmagic ATEM software and hardware. All of this was built into a rack-case that could be packed up and transported between their main library facility at the Derrimut Heath Campus, their gymnasium (where end-of-year productions occur) and also their Tarneit Campus. Lemac also provided high quality Dedolight LED lighting panels with soft boxes and Miller fluid-head tripods so that the students could really get the most out of their fantastic new camera equipment.
"We were very happy with what Lemac implemented for us." Maree Carabot, Librarian at Baden Powell commented, "They listened to our needs and sourced the right equipment for us, as well as providing training and assistance where ever needed. Now the students have a fantastic opportunity to learn on some cutting edge equipment in their class environment. This type of facility is a legacy I really wanted to leave for the students and Lemac have helped us achieve it."
For the production studio, Lemac sourced and provided:
Tim Schumann, Manager for Technical Development at Lemac helped design and implement the system;
"More
and more schools are realising that they can afford to add
production equipment to their school program so students can learn about creating video content in a studio
environment. There is now the ability now to
create a compact, portable rack mounted studio facility with
capabilities and a budget that were unimaginable even a few years ago."
With the ability fully engineer and put together a solution like this, Lemac additionally
provides on-going support for the equipment provided to Baden Powell and
assists with any technical problems they may encounter.
