Thanks to all those who came down to the Canon 4K Experience in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Held at Village Gold Class, the capacity crowds were wined and dined in style before viewing two short films to showcase two new Canon 4K cameras in all of their glory on the big screen. The images from Canon's C500 and 1D-C on display were breathtaking and showed the real strength of 4K acquisition and finishing.
Paul Stewart from Canon introduced the night and handed over to Stuart Pointon, Lemac Business Development Manager, who gave a technical rundown on the camera systems, the sensor technology, 4K post workflow for the cameras and some key features. Also discussed and shown was Canon's amazing 4K range of optics for their Cinema EOS range. Stuart also ran through some of the 4K record options provided by 3rd party devices such as the Codex Onboard-S, the Convergent Design Gemini 4:4:4, the AJA Ki Pro Quad and the Astro Design 4K recorder.
In the foyer before and after the event we were able to show off the Codex Onboard-S and Convergent Design Gemini 4:4:4 recorders working as 4K RAW record options for the C500, connected via Dual 3G SDI outputs. Thanks to Future Reality and New Magic respectively for those units. Lemac are proud to be able to offer them for our customers who wish to purchase the C500 camera system.
Also on display alongside the C500 were the already very popular C300 on a Zacuto Recoil Rig, its new baby brother the C100, as well as the forthcoming Canon 1D-C on the highly sought after Kessler Pocket Dolly v2. We are now taking orders on the C500 and C100, due for arrival November / December 2012, available with the full range of sales items, service and support that you have come to expect from Lemac.
